I've added two subnets on the R8 Router 172.16.5.0 and 172.16.6.128
and have confirmed R2 has
them in it's routing table via OSPF

I've got my routers setup across ethernet connections
R8 --------- R2 ---------- R3
I've included the R2 and R3 config and sho ip routes.
I can't see what I'm missing when I look at your configs.
R3 doesn't learn any of the routes on R8 although R2 does see them
and is
redistributing them.
