Hi all

I totally agree with all your comments regarding this one especially Dana's
comments about reading the question, addressing etc. before touching the
keyboard, above all, 'DON'T PANIC'. I did and payed the price. As for
accessing documentation, you answered the question yourself, 'it's not
humanly possible to NOT have to look in the book ever'. I think the CCIE lab
has gathered some myth over time, in reality I believe that Cisco are
testing for a high level of expertise in Internetworking not endeavouring to
search out a few superhumans as some would have you believe.

I did my first attempt in Brussells and to be honest the atmosphere was
relaxed and pleasant. Basically I messed up right at the beginning because I
made a stupid error in addressing which, had I done as Dana has suggested,
would have been easily spotted. However it was well into the configuration
that I realised something was wrong. I panicked, then didn't trust my own
judgement on topics that I knew well! I don't think I need say any more, do
I?

Despite this disaster I came away feeling positive and that CCIE was
achievable, I was my own worst enemy on the day. I'd say the actual lab was
fair.

I wish you very good luck and an enjoyable day

and my Best Regards to the group

Martyn
