Well, since you only have 5 telnet ports (VTY 0-4), generally you use a
single window. You can open up multiple telnet sessions, and use the
Ctrl-Shift-6 + x to break out of each telnet session and switch to another..
But yes, you can do this. The 2509 is the most common router used to set up
the reverse telnet scenario. It's what I use for my routers as I beat them
into submission for my upcoming lab (try to anyway)....

I don't remember being _required_ to use a single window, but found it
easier to manage than multiple screens.

and switch back and forth, or can you open up telnet sessions
from the PC and have multiple windows?
